My Passion Projects

Set Free Creative

I ran my own embroidery business for several years before and during the pandemic. I embroidered custom wall hangings, shirts, hats, and more, then donated 20% of my earnings to organizations that fight human trafficking. I sold my art online and in a local coffee shop!

Now, my focus is on my writing, so I am less active in this realm, but I still love creating art on the side.

I’ve been crocheting baby blankets for my friends’ babies as gifts, making decorated letters to send to my friends, recording covers of my favorite songs, journaling, and more.

Creativity is not just part of my job, it’s my passion. I’m so glad I get to bring my creative energy straight to work!

EPLA

I am really passionate about helping people through storytelling, so when the Early Pregnancy Loss Association came to me asking me to write for their blog, I was thrilled!

I volunteered to interview women who experienced miscarriages and share their stories on the blog to raise awareness for early pregnancy loss and provide a safe space for fellow survivors to connect with each other.

One day, a teary-eyed woman approached me to let me know that she had the article I wrote about her daughter saved in her phone’s bookmarks, and she read it over and over again, because it was so special to her.

This is why I do what I do— to impact people. And there’s a happy ending! Her daughter now has a healthy, happy baby.

Ministry

I grew up as a pastor’s kid, and ministry has always been an important part of my life. I’ve hosted kids’ church and small groups, played piano for services, led groups of volunteers, and more.

In college, I got minors in Women’s Ministry and Biblical Studies, and most recently, I give sermons at church.

All of these experiences directly inform my work skills. I’ve learned how to communicate well, lead groups of people, show kindness and care for others, and act in a professional and respectful manner.

Participating in ministry for my whole life has helped me focus on others, collaborate, and speak in front of groups with ease.
